Creating Your Website Content

What is keyword SEO? SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Here we will discuss how you can organically increase the keyword SEO of your website by writing keyword focused content that will help your search engine rankings on each page of your site.

Keyword SEO Is All About Smart Repetition & Staying on Target

When creating the content for your page (this is the text on the page), remember to use your keywords frequently, but not to “keyword stuff” (google hates that). You will want to use the phrase as often as possible, where it is natural, to get the maximum “keyword juice” or Keyword SEO from your content.

Keyword SEO Is All About Emphasis

How your keywords are emphasized or coded on the page is important as well. You may want to “bold” target keywords as needed, so that the site visitor and the search engine spiders can see with keywords on your page are important to the topic that your page is about. Using appropriate header tags (H1, H2, H3…) is important as well. Header tags tell the site visitor and the search engines what is important about your page (think headlines in a newspaper) – so it is only logical that you would want to put the relevant keywords into these headers for maximum keyword SEO.

Keyword SEO Is All About Location

If possible, try to have a well written sentence that contains your keywords in the VERY first sentence of your content. Search engines place greater value on the keywords placed closer to the start of content on a page. Many keyword SEO experts are now saying it is proximity to the top of the page, not keyword density that is the biggest factor to keyword SEO.

Keyword SEO Is All About Focus

When writing content for keyword SEO be sure that you have a clear focus on your page and within your topic. For example, this page is clearly about one thing: Keyword SEO. I could start talking about other topics, but then that would dilute my focus and my keyword relevancy.

Keyword SEO Is All About Images

The images you use in the content area of a page are there in illustrate, enhance or help to make your point – right? Search engines know this and look to the image titles and alt tags as ways of knowing what the image is (since it can’t actually see it). Using keywords in the image title and alt tags them becomes important – now the search engines can “see” your image and understand how it is related to your topic.

SEO Tip: Image alt tags like “company logo”, “food pic”, or “product shot” do little to help with keyword SEO. Instead, use the keyword that you are targeting for that page. For example, if you have a dog food site, called DogFood.com, then the alt tag for your logo should be “dogfood.com logo” (instead of “company logo”), the image of the dog eating dog food on your site should be “dog food” (instead of “food pic”) and the image of the bowl filled with your best selling product (lets say it is Alpo) should be “Alpo Dog Food” (instead of product shot). So instead of “seeing” company logo, food pic and product shot as the “images” on your site, the search engines “see” dogfood.com, dog food, and Alpo dog food, instead. If you were a search engine robot trying to determine what the page was about – alt image tags give you the clear picture?

Keyword SEO Is All About Titles

Just like when reading the newspaper, titles play an important part in keyword SEO. The title of your page is located at the very top of your browser window – think of it as the “section” header in a newspaper. An article found about “Cooking Up Sales” in the business section of your newspaper would be very different than an article of the same name in the food section of your newspaper. The title of each of your pages should contain the keyword that you are optimizing for. For example, on this page, the title is Keyword SEO | Blueleaf Creative | Houston. The search engines see Keyword SEO as the main focus of the page on my site, Blueleaf Creative, which is located in the Houston Metro Area. This page title is also what search engines display as the header in the search engine results.

Keyword SEO Is All About Georgraphy

If you want to keyword SEO for a specific region then it is important to include that regions name in your content and page titles. For example, if you were looking for a pizza place, you would never type in “pizza place” in the search bar. You would be more likely to enter “pizza houston” or some variation where you included your location to find a pizza place located near you – and not across the country. That is why having geographic cues or keywords is important to keyword SEO on your site.

Tip: If you service a large area, you could include a list like, “We Service, Houston, Clear Lake, Pearland, The Woodlands, Spring, Humble, and surrounding areas” on your pages. This would let your visitors and the search engines know to include you if someone searches for “Pizza Clear Lake”.

Keyword SEO Is All About Description

The description meta tag is important for keyword SEO as it is what is displayed under the title in the search engine results. You will want to write page meta tag descriptions that are relevant, engaging and include your keywords. You will also make sure that the url to your pages contains the keyword your are optimizing for.

Ex: http://www.blueleafcreative.com/web-design/keyword-seo (see how you and the search engines will clearly know what this page is about?)

For example, this page appear in the search engines like this:

KEYWORD SEO | BLUELEAF CREATIVE | HOUSTON
Keyword SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Content Writing Tips That Help Your Page Rank In Search Engines. Let Us Help You Write Keyword SEO Content.

You can see how my target keyword(s) “Keyword SEO” are used once in the title, twice in the description AND in the url? The search engines have no doubt – nor do my visitors, that this page is about Keyword SEO.

Tip: Many Search Engines will “bold” the keyword the person is searching for in your results (so that it is more relevant to the searcher) – so if someone searched for Keyword SEO my listing would appear like this:

KEYWORD SEO | BLUELEAF CREATIVE | HOUSTON
