Getting Started Overview

Here’s an overview of what we need to begin your web design project.

What You’ll Need To Gather So We Can Begin

Your Logo

PDF, EPS or high resolution PNG if possible. If you do not have a logo, ask us for an estimate to create one for you.

Hosting Credentials

Your hosting account login and / or Cpanel username and password.

WordPress Login

An administrator login to your current WordPress site (if you already have one).

Images & Pictures

Current and / or new images and pictures you’d like to use on the new site. You will upload these to the shared dropbox folder created for your project.

Content

Page content and any updated verbiage / information for the site. Your web designer will tell you how to provide this information.

Style Guide

Brand style guide, colors or any specific design requirements.

Please do NOT start sending us emails with these items attached. It makes for an organizational nightmare and will SLOW down your project.
We will direct you to the proper channel to provide the information and resources below, at the proper time stage of your project.

If you’re an Eager Beaver (we love those!) you are welcome to begin gathering these items on your own end and saving them to a folder on your computer for ease of access when they are requested.

The Design Process

Phase 1

Getting All Your Stuff

A large and time consuming part of creating a website is planning and capturing all the content and resources needed.  I’ll create the sitemap of your website for approval first. From there you will supply me with all the images and content for each of the pages designated on the sitemap. Don’t want to write content? Ask about our content writing services.

Phase 2

Making It Pretty (Awesome)

Once I have your home page content and images, I will design the home page, contact us page and a sub page for your approval. This will give you the overall look and feel of the site. At this point we can make changes in color, style, fonts, etc.

Phase 3

The Techie Stuff

Once the site layout and design are approved, We’ll move forward with designing the entire site, based on your approved sitemap. This includes adding all functionality, plug-ins, forms and pages. We will make sure your site looks great and functions nicely across all devices before moving to the next step.

Phase 4

Getting It Just Right

Once the site is ready for final review, you’ll be able to review each page and request any edits needed at that time. You will have to review every single page of your website at that time to make sure all spelling, grammar, addresses and information are correct before going live.

Phase 5

The Final Wrap Up

Once the site is ready to go live, all development plug-ins, pages, images and back-end files will be removed. A back-up of your site will be created. Your website logins and all credentials will be sent to you. Please save all logins for your records. Upon completion, if you haven’t already signed-up, you’ll get information on our Website Maintenance plan, which we highly recommend to all clients.
